If you have a cell phone cancell your home phone # and save that money Thats what I did, It covers the extra money I spend in gas every month.

That is it!!!! Has nothing to do with my finanicial stability, I am fine:biggrin:

These high gas prices are going to hurt all Americans sooner or later.... It is a trickle down effect...

Just two of my business have taken a big hit due to gas prices... Not only are we spending $10K a month in fuel, were we were only a couple of years ago spending 5... That's 60K a year in just fuel costs, that is a couple of employee salaries. If I was hurting and not loyal to my employees I would have had to offset that cost the eaisest way possible!

Now customers are struggling to pay! Once people stop paying their debts so they can eat and drive to work, I don't care what business you are in it will hurt you eventually! Unless you are in the oil business:wink:

Aw, come on Shane, read the posts. We both need to get a second, third and 4th job. Did they factor in the additional driving to get to all these extra jobs?? We have bigger problems right?? :D  ;)

I probably wont make any friends here but why do you guys feel you have to trailor your TRs? I have driven mine a total of 7 years to the Nats 600 miles each way. I have gotten up to 28 miles to the gallon and have never had a break down. If your racing your car then yah I understand but if your just attending or showing the car, drive the car and enjoy it.

what about the costs of other things that people have to pay other than fuel?when gas prices go up EVERYTHING goes up!!

prices will only go up !!!

I look at it this way, if the cost is too much this year it will only be more next year. So are you never going again? If you love the event and all the people you have come to meet then go. You only live once and who knows what tomorrow will bring? Enjoy life while you can.

Come on guys what’s just an extra few dollars for
1-gas
2-Food
3-emegency trip stash- tow truck and parts
4-tolls
5-hotel

Then add the rest of the year of higher prices to the above.

It doesn’t add up to much so stop complaining

Bottom line

The bottom line for alot of people is this: times are tight, I have been in this hobby for 27 years. I have a wife and 4 kids now, should i take our vaca money and spend it on my own vaca, since they do not like cars yet, or take my kids to someplace we can all enjoy.
Some of us can not afford 2 vaca's ... Trust me if at all possible I would attend !! This is my hobby, sometimes it goes on the backshelf since I have other responsibilites. This is not the 1st time the economy has sucked us dry.

That's my 2 cents or is it 1 cent now. Have a great time all who go!:D

Or you could be using it as excuse but you have high dollar fords with german shepards posing in the back seat with stage 2 parts in the trunk.

well just had a 2 hour talkin with the dog goin up to the lake house. He doesn't want us to go and leave him home .. Thought of taking him BUT he wanted to bring his girlfriends:eek: (maybe thats whats keeping him alive !! ) Sooo why does it matter if I have some old cars ??? stage 2 "stuff??? ya so what.. who cares  really don't have any use for the motor so Ill let it sit here like its been for the past 8 years  sell any of my stuff ??? maybe if I get in a mood :p Melissa made the big house splash so things are getting prioritized instead of the car that has been taking well care of the past few years . Pretty smart as far as I am concerned. We have a Buick race in our own back yard in June so we will go there . We really did want to go but the world is NOT goin to end if we don't  Soooooo what is YOUR car running now with a stroker motor and all the goodies in it ??? OR is it the "woulda, shoulda, coulda" deal :p Lots of guys running bigger turbos and motors now so the "mark" should be lowered pretty easy buy one of them .. OR did you already go by her ?? Oh the dog likes Buicks to !!

I knew I'd get your attention. I'm aware of the house situation, priorities come before racing. Just busting your chops. :)
Woulda coulda shoulda went to BG!

It's not secret the storied nats with over 25 consecutive plus years of events isn't going anywhere, it is a real shame that gas prices are cutting into all our events but rest assured like a warm blanket the nats will be there for us next year.

Safe travels, good weather and good racing to all those attending.

wellllllllllll.. have ya tried out your new combo  :p hey I did climb over her car in the garage to get some tools for working in the house today

The motor will make its debut in BG. Its dialed in on 23#'s of boost. New M/T radials and some suspension mods. Oh tightened the converter too. We'll see what happens when I turn the boost up. At least I dont have to worry about driving over the crank anymore.

well give it hell !!! to bad it doesn't seem like many guys are goin ... maybe "things" will get better for next year or Reynolds

For all of you that are going, I hope its a great year for you. I would go but I am sinking every penny to my name into painting my skylark so I can take it to BG next year.

I am going with my Dad and 2 brothers. Split the gas makes it very easy on the pockets when 4 guys are chipping in.
