Scot, I know that this site isn't an auction...BUT...but isn't it normal that when you post something in the "parts for sale" section, that you're hoping to get as much money as possible for it?

Claude. :)

I agree with Scott on this,

If i put price of 50 clams then 50 clams is what I'll take I would never dirty deal just to get an extra 15 or 20 bucks. If I submit post and 20 sec later a guy responds with I'll take it"...and as soon as I see his response "BAM" I get PM from guy offering $65 and I go with him...thats dirty deal... some may call it capitalism at its best, I just think its unfair to perhaps the first guy who just spent 2 hrs in that section hoping to locate that part...

If I post a price of 50 clams, guy responds to ad with "I'll take it" 20 secs after I post BUT I dont see it, insted I see popup hit me with PM and a guy wanting same part, I say ok sold..THEN I go back and check ad only to find out 2 other people were in line ahead of the guy.. well i would feel bad.

If a part is posted in public then the responding hand raisers should do so in public

I for sure dont want my inbox clogging up with questions that could have been asked in the thread.

Maybe its just that I was taught to never cut in front of the line, always say please and thank you and no elbows on the dinner table.

TRUST ISSUE:

http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/parts-sale/306620-parts-off-87-gn-sale-trade.html

Heres a damn good example...guy just signed up... less then 10 posts and its OH gee fellas ive decided to sell my project car and the parts ive bought for it... scroll down and you notice he has another GN he is concentrating on Why does he have a project car when his project car aint done?...ok where has he been all this time? hell he must never had any issues to not have to join any buick board to ask a question...damn hes good with the search feature on here.

hmmm complete yet hes parting it out?... yeh because its friggun stolen.

Stuff like that I eyeball very carefully, I look for words like 87 motor intercooled... hmm i didnt know that

Anyway it may be legit but the car is smokin hot I bet and with 10 posts its for sure buyer beware

Anyway maybe maybe not but I would not roll the dice with my hard earned dough unless I picked it up.

Why is it so hard to sell buick items on TB classifieds?

1. Why would I want to risk purchasing parts from "Joe Blow off the street" when I can't rely/depend on an established "vendor" here on turbobuick.com?

I AM NOT PITTING VENDORS vs SELLERS.

Not all vendors carry stuff that you can only get off the car itself.

Now I have had great luck selling the same stuff on ebay yet when posted here it is 1000 questions, on when was it built, used, delivery, price on & on. EVEN went its NEW:eek:

MAYBE the POSTING section should have a Mandatory:
Price,
Average shipping cost range( IE $25 to 30 subject to change) as we know people live different distances,
warrenty (Y or N)

I'm still kind of confused on your posts, Do you anounce in your threads that you will be accepting the highest offer?
Not always, but it can happen every now and then that I'll say : "$**.**, OBO" (or best offer), and some other times I'll say "make offer"...That's ok, isn't it? :( Sorry, I sould've been more clear...

What happens if someone like me sends you a PM for your asking price and then someone else does the same right after me offering you more? (Do you go with the other higher offer and the heck with me even though I was first to offer you what your asking?) ??
No. If I already replied to you, giving you my word that I'm selling whatever part to you, then I'll keep my word and sell it to you. But if several guys simply show some interest by asking questions BUT without ever committing to buy it after that, then I'll still go with the one who's willing to give me the most for it.

Thanks,

Claude.

time for a road trip

I agree.

as far as lack of trust:

Go to feedback section and play catchup on Warren Moore (westside 500) and his other 3 names that swindled hard working people out of thousands, got banned then he changed his name to MarvinsGN swindled more folks with his 3.5 inch DP that didnt exist, got banned and now a few months back changed his name again and took a guy for 700.00

Figure hes up to about 10k in scams

if someone did this to me for that amount i would definately consider a road trip. hell may even pick up a few other people he swindled so they could get their moneys worth out of his a55.

Aint that the truth, thats how i got this Buick, guy owed me money on labor, couldnt or wouldnt pay so I took his Buick, wasnt equal to the amount he owed me once i got it home and did inspection but ive had alot of fun with it since.
