I getting ready to have my welder install the bung for the sensor in the downpipe. How far past the end of the bung do the holes in the sensor need to be? I've made up different length bungs to change how far the sensor is from the end of the bung. For those who have done this before, is it better to drill the pipe and weld the bung into the pipe or weld the bung to the pipe and then drill the hole? Thanks.

O2??

I'd put the sensor about 8-10" from the flange on the Dp/turbo.
Mine is positioned so the wiring can be fastened to the A/C box and thus doesn't fall on the pipe.
Use the bung that duplicates the OEM O2 bung. Drill the hole, then weld the bung on, then run an 18mm tap thru the threads.
Drilling afterward could mess up the threads.;)

You also want it so that the tip points slightly downward.
You don't want any condensation to gather in the sensor element.
It goes room temp to 850dC in just seconds.
