Wider rod bearings

What does everyone think of the ten percent wider rod bearings mentioned in the GM High Tech Performance magazine article Buick Power Part 2.

Stock Federal Mogul part number is 6-3755AP, wider part number is 6-3755APA.

Also, I tried crossing the F/M # to a Clevite # on Clevites site. They gave me cb1327p, my machine shop said that was wrong. Anyone one know the Clevite # for the wider rod bearing?

Don't know about the clevit number. I've always used the wider bearings. They fit the rod and rod journal perfectly! A little more load surface can't hurt!

I spec'd out a Federal Mogul number to Pete, he said Clevite made a wide H brg too. I told him go for it.
Didnt catch the number, sorry.

I think the Clevite wide rod bearing number is CB-1348H.

Actually, CB 1398H is the correct wide rod bearing.
