widest rear tire size on a GN

on my old monte SS i was running 275/60R15 in the rear i think it was on 8inch wide rims..but i wanna what is the widest you can get on a GN without tubbing or anything like that? also i'd like to find a slick in that size, what do you guys like?


basically im gonna buy a pair of rear draglite rims and put some slicks on them...so i have a set of slicks..what do you guys suggest? also i dont have much money to play with

I have running 305x50x15 BFG Euro on the back of my 87 since 1992. No tubbing but had rolled the fender lips real tight. Car was an everyday driver up till 3 years ago.

295/50R/15...Can be done on stock T wheels or 7 to 8 inch wheels with 3 1/2" backspace. A little air in the bags helps too.

as for slicks 28x10.5. 97% have to roll the fenderwell lip but I did not need to & it never rubbed.
