I'd like to run the same tire all the way around. I have 16x7 rims and don't know the backspacing, but since my 225/55s appear to rub the inner fender, I assume that I'll need a spacer anyway.

I see a lot of 245/50 front, 255/50 rear combo's so I probably know the answer unless people just like to mimmic the GNX tires.

Thanks,
Tom

It all depends on your rims backspacing. I'm running a bfg comp t/a up front (245/50/16) with a "Front" gta rim. It rubs the control arm when the steering is turned all the way. If you use too much spacer, then the fender well might hit tire when you hit a bump.

But, all in all, I'd say it's possible. I know there are people running 17's with a large tire that doesn't rub anywhere.....

I have 4 of the GTA (GNX lookalikes) on my car and I run 255/50/16's on all 4 corners, the fronts will rub if you try and turn the front tires to the limit other than that they work fine.

Quick6,
The rear tires never rub? The 245's on my GTA rims seem Really close to rubbing the frame, do you use spacers?

Any have the actual GTA rim hit the control arm?

I checked my rims (GTA fronts) on my car. On the passenger side only at full right turning lock the rims grazes the control arm. In the other direction the rim clears by almost 0.5 inch.

No, but I also have aluminum drums on the rear which are I believe 1/4" thicker than the Irons.
