Will a chip for an 86-87 work in an 84-85?

I don't think it will, but can someone tell me to be sure? I have a chip for sale ( Dynotech for stock injectors, 87 GN ) and a guy wants to buy it but he has an 84 GN. Thanks

Well, not unless he has converted to an 87 ECM and MAF and even the I've found that the hot air cars need something somewhat more custom than your regular 86-87 stuff.
