My dad just tried to fit an optima battery in his GNX-----long story short---he could not find one to fit and has had to go another route. He actually had a couple and physically tried---to no avail.

I think you have to break out some plastic in the bottom of the tray, no biggy or it won't sit flat.

Also the tie down strap has to have two blocks added to it to reach the battery and hold it firmly, easy to do.

Otherwise it will rock inside the stock tie down strap.

Heres a link to a pic. or two. None are close up but just showing it can be done.

One pic. is in the alky. section called WE4 engine bay, other is in the 70dbblturbo section called overallinstall pic.

If you can't think outside the box or modify a few things to make it work then don't bother trying.

Mines been in almost 5 years now going strong. :)

Cody-
I just installed a Red top Optima in my T. I will be at redline sunday if you want to see how it fits.

I had a Red Top and now a Yellow with no mods what-so-ever. It is a TIGHT fit but it sits in there fine and doesn't move around at all. Not sure what "size" the battery is but so far I am 2 for 2 with no problems at all.

Ditto on the Red Top fits just fine, no mods needed. Battery hold down even fits.

MINE DROPPED IN SECONDS. EVEN HAS THE STACK BATTERY HOLD DOWN BRACKET ON IT. IT WAS THE EASIEST AND FASTEST THING IVE EVER UPGRADING ON THE CAR.
