Not with out a translater and then not without a lot of calibration.

Don't believe the hype. When someone says "housing flows 400 CFM more than stock housing". This is the housing alone. If you put the electronics back in it, the turbulence created by the missing airfoil negates MOST of this 400 CFM increase, while simultaneosly screwing up the sensors calibration to the lean side.

It might, but you will DEFINATELY need a Translator or T+ for it to be able to work with a stock computer.

Yeah, I understand I'd need a Translator ot T+. Should have been more clear.

I wasn't sure about the MAF itself. ie If the listed cars
had compatable MAF's with the translator to buick ECM.

How it works...

Running lean makes LS-1's make more HP/torque.

Running lean Blows turbo buicks up. You can use one if you remember to give the car a lot more gas to compensate.

I wouldn't advise going to something that radical. The translator "may" have enough room to run rich enough for it. BUT, I wouldn't bet on it. Stick with what we know works. A good LS1 3.5" sensor will take you into the 9's when you're ready.

That MAF looks just like the one Heath Elmer used on his original Black Beauty in GMHTP a couple of years ago[the one with the Simmons wheels and the baby blue roll bar].
I believe Bruce Plecan uses a similar MAF setup with some alterations to the chip parameters.Bruce, care to comment?

That's what I've been running for months now. ie screenless, vaneless MAF 3" Housing with 3.5" sensor.

If you look back thur the last several months I've well documented what I've done. In MAF mods

In short:
75mm = about 3 inches.

If you cut the vane and supports out of the small housing you have about the same cross sectional area as the stock 3.5 housing. Then with a little trimming you can run a 3.5 sensor in the 3" housing. The sensors are identical other then the electrical guts, and locating tabs.

BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT,
You have to totally recalibrate the MAF Tables and Scalers to get the calibration right. I have alot of quality time with the WB and making chips to get things right, but it can make for a neat setup.

If your worried about flow, you want to change to a blow thru set up. That way the turbo is blowing pressurized air thru the MAF rather then having to try and suck the air thru it. A blow thru MAF with screen and vane can run just fine with the normal Extender chip, well it did in mine anyway.

If your thinking about the Vanless Screen blow thru,
figure on 100 or so chips. Recalibrating a MAF is some serious effort.
