windshield antenna

Looking to put new front glass in a T-Type. Anyone ever try to use a windshield with an in-glass antenna, thereby eliminating the mast antenna entirely? Good/Bad reception?

my 99 grand prix has it in the windshield. reception is still good but not like a fixed mast. On long trips its hard to get stations...

My old 76 Chevy Pickup had it in the windshield, and it was awesome!!! I could pickup everything, but I never took it on a roadtrip.
