The previous owner had a kill switch in line with a large green wire underneath the dash. Looks like 10awg or so. The switch arm broke and I'm going to replace it.

Does anyone know what this wire is and is a kill swith here the appropriate place for one?
Thanks

Just replace the switch when you need to, i have no idea what he is cutting power to with the switch, but with that gauge wire, i would assume the purple feed wire to the starter?

If need be, just bypass the switch with a piece of wire to get the car running.

Put it anywhere you want, but put it out of vision from a theif.

Well, I need to know the current requirements to rate the switch. 10awg wire is rated for over 25Amps continuous and the switch that was there was a heavy duty one (but not marked).

And the splice is green but the actual wire is purple with white stripe.
thanks

Just purchase a 120volt switch from graingers, i believe they are 250 amp and will last 10 times longer. This is very common in the industrial industry.
Tomorrow i can find you a part number, i have a book if you like

go to graingers.com OR gograingers.com and look for a toggle switch

I don't think they can make a toggle swith rated for 250amp, especially for dc. But if you find something please post it. Thanks :D
