FWIW, the make the Napa Gold filters too. That's what I've always used and they seem to have that anti oil drainback valve too.

What is the Napa Gold Filter (Wix) for the biggie oil adapter(RJC)??
FRED

wix #51049 or 51258

for napa just drop the first number = napa# 1049 or napa gold #1258

I read on an oil BB that the Wix filter filtered the smallest particles (10 micron if I remember correctly).

Wix also makes NAPA gold and Carquest premium filters, they are just painted a different color at the Wix factory. I called the Wix factory and they confirmed what I just wrote.

You might also check out Baldwin Filter Co, and specifically their B9 filter for the RJC biggie adapter.

Very thick metal shell, won't deflect in your hand. Consistently the best anti-drainback valve I've encountered.

The B9 is about 25% larger than the Delco PF24 , that is often suggested for the Biggie adapter.

I've used Wix in all my vehicles for at least 10 years. Hard to quantify filter quality except for the independant testing I've read where the various components are evaluated and compared. Whatever you use, change it frequently.

That's a big filter

I've never used it on Turbo Buicks (I'm still running the "small" filter), but I used to use it on V8's all the time... it's a longer version of the "regular" big Buick filter.

Regular
Wix: 51258
CARQUEST: 85258
Napa: 1258
Specs... http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlookup/PartDetail.asp?Part=51258

Longer
Wix: 51049
CARQUEST 85049
Napa 1049
Specs... http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlookup/PartDetail.asp?Part=51049

Notice though that although it's bigger, it doesn't filter as small a particle. I'm not sure what's more important, but I would lean towards the "regular" big filter and the better filtering.

Wix does make a great filter.

You can use the best filters on the market but what happens when your car goes into bybass when cold? I use 2 Filter mags around my oil filter just in case... And yes they are worth the money..

Thanks guys for all your input. ;)

I change my oil every 2,500mi and after the track. I think I might just stick with the AC Delco PF52. I just wanted to hear some feed back on the WIX.

Thanks again,
Brent

I use the baldwins exclusively on both my GN's. One with the biggie adapter and one without. They are some awesome filters, and with some of the best media available. Primarily designed for commercial/farm applications.
