Today is two months to the Woodward Dream Cruise. I would like to get a big group of us together for the cruise. I spoke about this with Steve Petro about a month ago or so, and he's down.

Who else is going? Should we get a parking lot somewhere?

I'm taking leave on 19 AUG. That gives me a day to drive home (Dearborn), wax the car, fix whatever I broke driving 900 miles home, and cruise the Boulevard.

:D

I'm going.........

TO AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS!

Unfortunately it's gotten so out of control it's no fun anymore. The best thing to do is meet up on the Thursday or Friday before. Saturday just plain stinks. Total gridlock, people selling spots, no place to sit, no place to move, choking on exhaust fumes and so on.

On either Wed, Thr or Fri a meet should be scheduled. I'd go to something like that.

I plan on going out there the weekend before and the week before and weekend. 9 days straight!:D
Weather permitting. My Wife's due date is the actual day, so I guess its up to her when she delivers:p
I would like to set up a day just to meet up with the fellow Turbo Buick/Turbo TA people. I think alot of them meet up the Wednesday or Thursday before the cruise. I am working on getting a bunch of spots cheap for the cruise. If I do, I will let everyone know here first...

Yeah, looks like I'm gonna miss the good stuff the week before hand. I can't take leave until the 19th :(

I went two years ago, would have gone last year, but the power outage kept us away. Were planning to be there this year. One of the V8 guys said there is a Buick hang-out:confused:  anyone know where it is?
BTW I waisted two snobs in their Porsche when I was there two years ago:D

Dream Cruise

The Michigan Buick Turbo Club always meets the Wednesday night before the cruise at the Moose Preserve Bar and Grill, on Woodward at Square Lake Rd. (just off I-75) in Beverly Hills at 5:00 or so and make this "base camp" for the night- you're all certainly welcome to join us. Numbers in recent years haven't been quite what they used to be, but on several occasions we've had over 20 TR's cruising "in formation"- it's awesome watching the heads turn and point! If we happen to get split up (or, not that it EVER happens- get pulled over >g<) we just meet back in the lot, so we're in and out all night. C'mon by!

Wednesday, 10-4...I'm all over that. Maybe we could coordinate a specific channel to talk on with the store bought "talkabout" FRS radios?

Dream Cruise

There are channels besides #6? :D :D :D I actually have four Cobra Microtalks which are a blast for taunting people (besides legitimate usage :p ). Feel free to grab one of 'em at the Moose Preserve.
While I'm here- we're having a kind of spur of the moment track rental at Milan on Friday, July 2nd (making up for our Norwalk rainout) from 11 - 4. Gates "officially" open at 10:30, but I know the maintenance crew starts at 8:30 and they don't care if we skate in early. Cost is $50 for members, $60 for non-members (again, no pressure to join, but welcome to while you're there). Extend your holiday weekend and c'mon out to the track!

Just like every year, I'll be there in spades.....getting in town Tuesday night and Steve and I are gonna hang out all week! If you've never been, don't listen to the naysayers. It is a TOTAL blast! More cool cars in one area than you will ever see anywhere at any time! I've driven various cars there the last three years, but I think I'm gonna cruise with my buddy in his 70 Road Runner 440 4 speed this time around....Oh, and get me some tickets in Steve's GN.....:D

Yeah, screw the naysayers. You can cruise Woodward year round on a thursday... BUT YOU CAN ONLY DREAM CRUISE ONCE A YEAR!!!

:D

Well, you can "cruise" Woodward year 'round except for the day of the cruise. Then it turns into the largest collection of hot rods in the largest parking lot in the world!

Cruise should be taken out of the name of the event. In any case I'll be cruising around the days prior.

I would rather see nakee people runnin around than that damned abortion bus. Hopefully the GN will be there on sat. This will be my 5th year at the Cruise. For all that think that it is not a blast, boo you! It is soo much fun. It is almost more fun to sit next to your car on the side of the road and watch. Last year all these people were egging on a fox body to to a burn out and he would only rev the motor. So I reved up the car and dropped the clutch, smoking the tires. BTW I was in a red 1960 Corvette. I will try to make it on wednesday. If I cant get the GN there, think it would be ok to show up in the STi?

Nick

What's this abortion bus I hear so much about? I hear Drew and Mike mention it everyonce in a while (Gotta love streaming radio).

Don't bring the Scooby Doo, bring the GN! :D

I plan on being down there on the weekdays leading up to the actual cruise on Saturday. I'll most definitely be at the Moose Preserve on Wednesday for the Turbo Buick club get-together.

Good to hear you'll make it Wednesday night, TT/A1233- looks like we'll have quite a crowd this year. A small group of us (9 or 10 GN's) hit the Clinton Township Cruise on Sunday and we're already getting the "We're not worthy!" bows from the sidelines! :D

You're only young once, but you can remain immature indefinitely.
