... a TE44 to a TE52? I can't really find much information on this turbo. Also what would be better, TE54, or should I stick with my TE44, or get a TE63? Im looking for a nice streetable turbo, and a stall no larger than 3200.

I'm going from a PTE51 to a TA62 with 3200 stall vs. the stocker D5.

I am expecting good things.

If not it goes bye-bye for a CPT-66 ball bearing from Jack C. :)

51 goes on the GN with 3K stall.

If your heads aren't ported I seriously doubt you'll gain more than .1 seconds on the street, in street trim with any turbo larger than a TE44... unless your car is tuned to run 25 psi on pump gas. It may mph higher (higher hp peak), but in the midrange it may be weaker.

A TE52 flows more on the exhaust side vs. a TE44 so the torque curve is moved right (though not significantly raised). This results in more peak HP at the expense of low end operation. Since up ported heads don't have much in the way of top end RPM potential (unless the air is very compressed), there isn't much room to the right for the torque peak to go.

If your heads ARE ported there will likely be a measurable benefit to stepping up to a larger turbo on the street (as long as you have a converter, too.)
