i have the massive old 87 radio, do i hav eto take out the heater controls and if so can i relocate them?

Your OEM is 1 1/2 DIN, thats 2 DIN, it can fit, (anyting can fit) and I think trimming above and below OENM hole and tring to leave the HVAC controls is a possibility. Hopefully someone will chime in that has done this first hand that can give us the run down.

Agree with Greg, it can be done. I did one in an 87 Cutlass and did not have to move the A/C, heater controls. I didn't care for the way it turned out, but the owner of the car thought it was great since he got an in dash DVD and 3 flip downs. Had to trim the metal in the dash and modify the trim panel. Just didn't look "right", not a hack job, but not good. If the trim panel had been rebuilt, it would have turned out better. The owner didn't want me to spend the time and money to make it right.
