Looks like the "****in is beginnin".. The Travelodge has jacked the prices for a single up to $75.00/nite for the Nats......

Looks like this is the last of that bull$hit for me.....Next it'll be $10.00 burgers at the Micky D's...

When I asked what happened to the $59.00 deal.. she said "that's the way it is. Oh, btw, you are past the cancellation date of 2/14, so if you cancel, it's a 1 nite payment anyhow"...

Maybe the guys that stay home have a better idea!!!

Chuck,
I know what you mean. I called Motel 6 and they said for the first night it was 37.99 and all the nights after that is 52.99. Im like WTF...last year everynight was the same price. I said that I would talked to the manager when I got there. She said no you won't the is corporate making the decisions:mad:

Don't they know if everybody starts jacking the prices up..that nobody will come.

Whatever!!!!!!

 Alway's something !!! Find a new place to hold them. See if they like that.

I have been going to the nats for over 10 years and i never book a room anymore.
When i get there i drive around and find a decent place to stay at, with a good deal.
In the past i could not understand bringing them business and they jack the prices up!
I think almost all places that have big events do the same thing..........and its called GREED!

BINGO!!!!

Try going to Gainesville for the Gatornationals. $149 a night for a second rate hotel room, and that's the cheapest you will find.

Is there an Americ inn there I have had great luck in the midwest with them ,a new hotel chain. I booked a room for 4 nights to do some late musky fishing and when we pulled in the lakes were frozen over. They do not have a cancelation penalty and refunded all my money, never thought that would happen.

I m going to go look at a 50 ft GN tomarrow......I figure if it costs me 1000 a year and I use it atleast 10 times.....Im atleast breaking even and have the comfort of the trailer for the wife /daughter everywhere we go and take two cars.

An economist might call it "suppy and demand":(

If you had a deal and they changed the deal you can reject the deal and you will not owe them for one night.

I stayed at a place about 30 minutes North of BG and it only cost $25 per night with the coupon that the clerk offered to me. It was a nice new Hotel.

The way I see it that 30 miles on big open highways only takes 30 minutes to cover; save 30 to $50 per night and that works out to about $80 per hour.

Echo what B&I just said--if you booked at $59, and they now want
$75, that sounds pretty much like breach of contract to me...

And I've been driving my motel for years, the ONLY way to fly!!

:)

Ahhh, yes. This price gouging has been going on here at the St. Ignace, Woodward Dream Cruise and Frankenmuth cruises here in Michigan. Tripling or quadrupling of room pricing isn't unusual. I quit going up to the St. Ignace cruise just for this reason. Two years ago I reserved 2 rooms via the internet on their standard rates as they "forgot" to up their rates on the net. They caught their "error" once we checked in and were IRATE that we got the rooms so cheap, but screw them. Get this, we got the rooms at $59 a night and they were going for $200! We got the rooms again then next year but not as cheap and they remembered us from the year before.

I was thinking of making the NATS this year and try out my new 5th wheel for a road trip. Can anyone recommend a nice campground nearby? GN will have to stay home since I don't have an enclosed trailer. Everyone's seen an original GN anyhow.

BOYCOTT!
Reminds me of Talladega. It used to be a real deal. Just a bunch of good ole boys with rwd factory modified cars. Now its all about the $. No tits in the infield either!

It's the same crap everywhere. WIldwood NJ for the Firefighter convention, $85 a night and you're paying for three nights weather you're staying all three or not. Were talking September in a shore town here. It's like $65 an night the week before.
