How do you take the thing apart? The damn thing is not working getting a message that can't read it the dics. Does it on about 95% of the disc's. Maybe dirty or something. Tried a dvd player cleaner no good.

Any thought's maybe to fix it?

my roomate's gets the black screen that says "the disc you're using may be damaged or dirty" at all kinds of random times. will work sometimes for hours, sometimes will work 10 minutes with random games. His is a problem in the disk drive. He is on his 3rd drive in two years, 4th will be here in the mail next week. only got the first one replaced under warranty too. There is an aftermarket one out that's only like 15 bucks... the samsung replacement is closer to 90 IIRC. It's not supposed to last as long, but 90 is more than half the price of a new one.

screws should be on the bottom side, the whole upper shell lifts off.

Hop on ebay and get a phillips or samsung, just don't get another thompson.
