Whoo hooo!!! I've been a lurker and occaisional poster on this and the other turbo buick boards for a while now, and I've wanted a GN for even l0onger than that. Today though, that dream became reality, as I am the proud new owner of an '85 GN
The smile hasnt dissapeared from my face yet, even though the car doesnty seem to be running too strong, falls on tis face after bout 3k RPM, and might have some cooling issues (stored code 14 - high coolant temp, and intermittent flashing water temp lamp). The car is 99% stock mechanically, and the interior is in great shape with new seats, headliner, doorpanels, carpet, etc. Also has brand new timing chain, water and oil pump, bottom end rebuild (including a fresh turbo crank), all done by an ASE certified mechanic, with reciepts. I think she just needs a little tuning and "spring cleaning" to opefully get her running right. She drives fine as it is now, just hesitates a little off idle, has a few hiccups in the power curve, but im confident I'll have her running right pretty soon. anyways, I just needed to brag to people who can understand how awesome it is to finally own a turbo buick. When i tried telling my freinds, most went "huh? you got a 20 year old buick??" . A few know their stuff and were properly impressed though. I'm so excited to have some fun with this ride, and looking forward to annoying the hell out of all you guys asking you a million questions as i run into the problems that will crop up. THanks, and see ya later.
