underestimated This Maserati Quattroporte is available in a sport configuration with over 400hp;) Just because the pilot was probably regally offended at your misidentification, doesn't imply his ride is slow or he's intimdated. This vehicle has a Ferrari designed V8, (so you should enjoy the...

    Anyone know Scott Compton?

Hey that's me! Clayton, Sorry about the miscommunication; thought you had my info, (also, everybody was discussing Kenny's GN-original owner for sale). The address is the same and new phone number 360-966-1106, thanks. If it helps, I've been a member from 99-01, just let my membership lapse...

    Erratic Trans shifting

Help with trans? LC2 ROD, Sorry man, totally spaced that other e-mail! What's your ride don't recall seeing it around, (I can't find old email to reference to) anyhow; you can email at e7c@gte.net, let me know. Oh by the way; Ken, (original GN owner) stopped by tonight and we're going to see...

    IAC and MAF

I've removed the IAC unit from the TB and cleaned it and the passage, pushed it back to under 1 1/8 measurement and re-installed; but the IAC counts are still 61-78, even after following the "turn ignition on, (without turning over), then off", method. The IAC still won't reset itself, how do I...

    Erratic Trans shifting

Makes sense...dduhhrr! Thanks guys, Guess I need to remember I'm only reading what info the ECM receives, not necassarily empirical data! LC2 Rod, I didn't get your email, but if you're in Washington State, wherebouts? I'm in Bellingham. Oh yeah, I shouldn't fail to mention, first couple of...

    Erratic Trans shifting

On occasion my 87 GN, when coming to a stop from cruise speeds of 50+mph feels kinda as though it's staying in fourth gear, (it's not the TCC as scanner reveals) then when it leaves from a stop, it shifts far too rapidly 1-2, then 2-3 at far too low a speed, giving the impression of lugging or...

    Help for ailing Hot air!

I've finally got an 84 T-type running fairly well after replacing a faulty injector; however, in the process of "spring cleaning" I acquired a Cardone MAF sensor, (on the explicit recomendation of an astute Hot Air brother) as the OEM part had a huge blister in the film. This new MAF looks...

    killed a 71 trans-am HO today

TA kill Congratulations on the kill. However, I'd like to point out that the 1971-72 Trans Ams only came with 455cid, and in the form of the High Output 455. These ran about 14.3-14.1@100.5mph+, and all that at 8.4 compression! With the simple addition of headers, Motor Trend reports...

    Won't shift out of gear

Shift linkage The pin I pulled was a cotter pin keeping the linkage on the rod next to,(by the side of) the shift cable detent going into side of trans. I beleive this goes back up to steering column?? Also car is a console shifted vehicle, thanks for your attention!

    Won't shift out of gear

I have just performed the annual "spring cleaning" on 87 GN, when to my dismay, after buttoning up trans pan; I discovered not only the shifter handle was broken but the trans wouldn't shift out of gear, (not engaging other gears even when handle was out of Park position!)? Now, when the...

    More on new 84T-Type

Last week I posted on the surging, stalling, condition of a recent "Hot-Air" acquisition. While after closer inspection I noticed one of the spark plug wires had the boot "repaired" with about six zip ties! Needless to say the car is in for the "spring cleaning"; I wondered what wires were...
