Personally (and no disrespect to others, it's just a matter of taste) I love to see modified Turbo Limiteds. Only 1035 of these were made and the more of them I see people have modified the rarer my car becomes - again, not hate'n, just a matter of taste.
I've been into turbo GMs for about 22 years now and saw the immediate rarity and exclusivity of these cars. I went through the GN, TTA, Typhoon, Turbo Regal and now Turbo T Limited. Out of all of them I find the Turbo T Limited and GMC Typhoon to be at the top of the game. While the Typhoon isn't the performer of the Buick it's a fantastic all-around performance vehicle with tons of room, ease of ingress/egress, style, aggressive looks - very much the same as the Buick. The Buick's performance edged out the GMC for me along with ease of performance upgrades that appear stock. Then along came the Limited - ULTRA RARE and very much below the radar which can be a double-edged sword. Those of us in the Buick world know the rarity of these cars however outside our ever shrinking circle of fans it's a relatively unknown creature.
I found the white Regal with the WO2 option to be the most appealing and ended up finding two in my ownership career and one white/chrome. I longed for one with opera and cornering lamps but that's like trying to find a carrier pigeon today. Good luck in trying to find one let alone if they were ever made. Buick kept some records on these cars but when Buick city virtually shut down in the mid 1990's in Flint, MI what Buick kept disappeared.
My first Limited had 8,700 miles and I got it about 7 years ago. It was modified under the hood and was damned scary. It was what I sought originally which was white, landau roof, a true sleeper but with the chrome package which most Limiteds were made. It was fun but never fulfilled what I really sought which was a truly rare white Limited with the WO2 blackout package - but I found one with low miles, original and unmodified. I still have it today and at 25 years of age has just under 68,000 miles on the clock. I've always told myself "I'm never selling this car" when it came to my toys but they seemed to find new homes, however I don't think this one will. I'm getting too old to keep flipping cars. This is aside from the fact the chance of me finding something nicer won't come in my lifetime.
The photos show my first Limited, extremely low mileage with chrome trim. The next shows my current Limited, white with rare WO2 blackout trim and even rarer Astro Roof. The window sticker has it optioned at $18,500 in 1987 dollars which is one expensive V-6 Buick Regal.
