I noticed the bearing (clevite) where a lot more narow then the rod why is that?Sealed Power 63760A wider type rod bearing and Sealed Power 7144MA main bearing.
This is the reason I'm using them, so that the pressure from the Rod is displaced onto the crank more evenly, more surface area.Because 3.8 bearings are skinnier than they need to be. 3800 bearings drop right in and are wider.
3800 bearings? I'm a noob, you mean like for series 2 engines? And do you mean the stock bearings for a series 2?Because 3.8 bearings are skinnier than they need to be. 3800 bearings drop right in and are wider.
That's some good info!!!yes. I used 95 Buick park ave, when I'm looking up rod bearings (and cam buttons)
Thanks budy trying to do my best! That paint looks amazing!!!!!!!
Did you go through the timing cover, do the oil mods, and set the end play correctly?
Don't forget that small bolt to the left of the front crank seal at about the 9:30 position.
Its the smallest timing cover bolt. What bolt and what is that bolt for?

Rock the cam shaft back and forth once you put the timing cover on with a dial gauge hooked up. Set the clearance using the shims supplied with the button. And then put back on the timing cover for good. How do you do that earl?
