Well, maybe this should be in the "lounge", but lets see if the moderators will let us keep this one in here and make it sticky...
===================

Well, you "junkyard dogs" know all of the really FUNKY stuff you see left in the cars right (clothes, cd's, cigarettes, pot, etc)?

Well, today I found a "FuzzBuster". It is like the first radar detector ever or something. No buttons (no on/off), no speaker and one BIG blue light. It is about three times the size of todays detectors. A little peice of history. Gave it to a friend of mine...

I remember those! Didn't they have a burlwood look to the front?

My strangest find was actually my buddy's strangest find. We get out to the car one day after parusing through the yard and when I open my tool box I found a gay men's magazine called "STAR" in it that my buddy had planted. Thank goodness they didn't spot check my toolbox!

Not to let good gay porn go to waste, I put a bogus mailing label on it with my assistant manager's name on it (I was 16 and worked at a Phar-Mor) and put it in the manager's desk. When the manager found it he put photocopies of the coverpage with the address label on it in all of the "employee only" spaces of the store. Needless to say, the ass't manager wasn't happy.

LMAO!!!!:D :D

I swear on my life this is true...........

About 15 years ago, me an' a buddy are out at one of the local yards. Popped the trunk on some car, don't even remember what it was. Found a bunch of porn snapshots, so we each grab a handful and start checkin 'em out. First 10 or so I flip thru are fuzzy close-ups, when I hear my bud go "Duuuuuuuuuuude..........check it out........" as he hands me a pic of one of our other friend's GF's with some major dong down her throat.

Let's just say that it was easy to tell it wasn't our other friend, unless he got REALLLLLY tan, really quick.

As we continued to "review" the shots, I remember thinking to myself, "Holy ****, this chick is 100% FREAK.

Mark Martone found a good thing for me.. a burgundy dash cover - almost 5 years ago. It's still in my car to this day!

Today's find was a brandy new radiator.

Out of a 1979 Buick Regal.

Go figure...:D

I got a very nice carpeted spare tire cover for free. They couldn't decide what to charge me so they didn't charge me anything.

Actually it came from a 91-92 Riviera. It is gray carpet with a zipper down the middle to access the wing nut that holds the spare in place.

I looked in an old riviera and saw a steering wheel just like the one in my GN, and it was nice and smooth with no cracks. I set it on the floor when I went to pay for my stuff and told the guy I had a steering wheel too. He said 5 bucks for steering wheels, I had to bite my lip to keep from showing my the BIG SMILE on my face. :D :D
What a find!!!!!!
Tarey D.

Low Fuel Light

Like the one I got out of a Riv in San Diego. I was tempted to just pocket the module 'cause it's so small. But intergrity is important to me, plus I was curious what they would charge, so in the end I carried just that one part up to the counter. The girl said "Just that?", then waved me through. Whoo-Hoo!

Last time at the yard I saw a 1980's grand prix with "louvres" on the back window.

Ouch...

I got my 92 roadmaster arm rest today. It is blue leather but that is what an upholstery shop is for.

I have the 60/40 bench, the roadmaster one bolts right in same as the stock arm rest.

That does look pretty sweet though.:D

Yep.

Matter of fact, the first one I got was missing the latch, so I got one from a burgundy one.

Colors seem to be mostly grey, blue and burgundy.

I seem to be finding a lot of these. (Wish it was the same with aluminum bumpers.)

They are a PITA to remove. I guess not any harder then a sway bar. Thing is, a sway bar is outside of the car, and these are inside. Seems about 1000 times hotter, even with the doors open.

Yard charges like $10 for em.

I was thinking of making my own and selling them for less then what the vendors charge for new. I think the new ones are like $80. So I was planning on charging $50. Prolly cost about $15 in materials; 20 minutes labor removing the damn thing from the donor car; 20 minutes for assembly.
