sounds like you have a bad PCV valve.which would explain both problems.first the buzzing sound,they can have a small build up of oil deposits which over time can make the valve difficult to close which is done by vaccume.so while the vac.is trying to close the valve at idle the build up of...

the car should be running when adjusting your float level.fc227 also made good points.if all else fails run smaller jets and see what happens.when does it run rich,at idle?when driving?when flooring it?
15.7 STOCK?
I DON'T KNOW ABOUT ANY ONE ELSE BUT I HAVE YET TO SEE A STOCK 231 IN A REGAL GO 15.7'S.MOST CARBED TURBO MODELS HAVE A HARD TIME GOING THAT FAST STOCK.NOT THAT A BLOWER WOULDN'T MAKE IT FASTER BUT 15.7'S IS MORE LIKE IT AFTER THE BLOWER IS INSTALLED.I STILL RATHER STICK WITH A TURBO.
just a note:monte ss had 3.73 gears not 3.42's.3.42 came in buick turbo's and hurst olds cars.and not all of either gears were limited slip.but with a non turbo six limited slip prob.isn't nessessary.3.08 or 3.23 would be good gears.anything more would need a o.d. trans for any kind of...
