Hello all,
I am getting ready to install a Hughes deep pan on my 200R4. I recently purchased a T-Type with 54,000 miles and I am changing out all the fluids. Being that I am not sure what type of transmission fluid the car currently has, what is my best choice for a transmission fluid refill?

Thanks!

The Dex 6 is a great fluid and backwards compatible with all previous dex fluids. The good name brand stuff is a full synthetic . I use the Kendal

I use some tractor fluid in mine. Mostly because the dex vi is pricey. I can get a five gallon bucket of the tractor stuff for about $50.

I've been reading up on this of late. this is my conclusion

Dex III - original fluid, superseded by Dex VI
Type F - Works great but should be changed more frequently
B&M Trick Shift - Works great, basically a high priced re-branded/colored Type F.

I think I'm probably going to go with some AC Delco Dex VI in mine

John Deere low viscosity tractor fluid. Doesn't foam when it gets hot. Holds up the best so far that I used.

Is everyone still in agreement using Dex 6. Going to change out oem dex 3 after 30 years. No issues with tranny and fluid still looks vibrant after all these years. Fluid has less than 25K on it.

Yup, still stand by Dex 6
