Whats runs the RPM lights on the stock dash cluster?

I have the same problem, my tach reads 5 or 6 all the time and then with a little throttle stays maxed out. I connected those wires and the tach just stayed at 1000RPM and didn't move at all, so I went back and disconnected them. Glad this was posted, hopefully I can find the solution...

I used Dupli-Color Trim Paint in a green can, spray was excellent, and after it dried it looked great.

    HELP please!

oh yeah, driveability went from about 50% to 80% just by gapping the plugs to .45 which is what the factory service manuals from Buick specified.

    HELP please!

I have an 85 Grand National. Car sat for awhile and wasn't running when I bought it. 45K original miles. I have put new plugs, wires, correct plug gap, new MAF, filter, and fuel filter. Car runs @ what I would call 80%. If you quickly give it gas while in park it will choke/bog. If you...

What I've done so far and what is still going on.

My good friend is a member on here, and owns a '86 GN, his name is John. He gave me Benny's number, I have yet to touch base with him. My Uncle is incredible with Turbo cars and he has been EXTREMELY helpful thus far.

What I've done so far and what is still going on.

When I bought the '85 it wasn't running. I put a new fuel filter in and it cranked right up. I then put new plugs, plug wires, NEW MAF sensor, new air filter, fixed the turbo exhaust pipe and rewrapped and silcone coated. The car runs like a champ except for a few minor things. here they are...

Rough Idle, RPM's don't match what engine actually running

hi guys! well I got the '85 running. I put in a new fuel filter and now the car has a terribly rough idle. I'm getting any where from 8-10 ohms resistance through the plug wires so they are getting replaced tommorow. It falls on it's face threw throttling and isn't boosting worth a flip...

    85 MAF sensor? Coil?

My car had an electric fan on it when purchased. I was wanting to go back to the clutch fan. The electric fan that is on the car now comes on at the turn of the key. If I go with the '87 ECM / Coil / MAF, is it going to be required to have a electric fan or can the car have the clutch fan?
