Ridetech / UMI A-Arms - Any Impact on Track Width?

Looking at the Ridetech and UMI front end kits (a-arms & coilovers). Anyone that has installed either of these - did you notice any difference in the track width? My car is currently lowered w/ cut springs and the tires already rub on big bumps so I can't afford to push the wheels out any...

    Anyone with Ridetech coilovers?

I like the Ridetechs because the brackets use two bolts. Every other coilover set-up I have seen used one bolt in single shear which I don't think is a good idea. I could be wrong on the QA1s, I'll have to look again. Thanks for the suggestion!

    Anyone with Ridetech coilovers?

Thanks guys. GKNY, would you select the stiffest setting for the street? Currently I am riding on Bilsteins with 1/2 coil cut off of Eibach springs which isn't too bad. I want a firm ride but since I wont be taking the car on the track I'm not sure I would use the adjustability feature. If...

    Anyone with Ridetech coilovers?

I am considering putting Ridetech coilovers on the rear of my GN to get it a little lower. Are the adjustables worth the extra $$? I am curious how the different damping ratios compare to the non-adjustables. My car will not see track duty, it's only for the street so I don't necessarily need...

Now selling rear coil over kits

No reinforcements necessary? The stock shock mounts are strong enough to support the sprung mass of the vehicle? Also, how low can the car go with these? I'm at about 25 1/8" from ground to fender lip now and would like to keep this height or maybe a little lower... Thanks.

Patrick, Do you have maps you can share of the 5857? Also, can the stock heat shield still be used? Thanks, Sean

Well looky what we have here! Amsoil with a high-zinc additive package.

I think the key here is the zinc additive for protection against flat tappet wear, not the oil change interval or any other marketing hype. I've been using the 10W40 for a year or two now. Engine still runs so I guess it's working o.k.

Are orbital buffers too aggressive for original paint?

Thanks guys. Firechaser, you mention that you don't think the spider webs would come out with the orbital? I thought the spider webs were basically micro scratches that were relatively shallow. I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the input!

Are orbital buffers too aggressive for original paint?

My car has original paint and overall it's in pretty good shape, however I am determined to finally do something to get rid of the spider webbing, scratches, etc. I've researched a lot of posts on this forum and it seems like a lot of people are using orbitals with various polishes (3M swirl...

    Turbo Newbie

Welcome to the club. Research this forum and check out gnttype.org. Lots of good info there too. Use the recipes - they're proven. You can make the stock wastegate adjustable by cutting the rod in the middle, cut out some material, thread both sides with a die, and use a long nut to...

At today's Barrett-Jackson in Las Wegas....a GNX sold

I used to think that but not much anymore. You have to remember that the price of most of these cars is still less than what it would cost to restore the car to #1/#2 condition. In a way it may be helping the industry because more people are restoring cars that otherwise wouldn't have been...
