Part number for VDO speedometer in the AVC GNX dash (reads too fast)

I need somebody that can rotate the face of the speedometer 1° :) My VSS is correct so I assume the gearing on the cable is correct. I'de rather have the speedometer inaccurate that the VSS. That light on the VDO speedometer is terrible though. All the other lights on that cluster are bright but...

    Location of idle in ROM

Thanks! That explains it in a lot more detail.

Part number for VDO speedometer in the AVC GNX dash (reads too fast)

I was just doing other work and figured to correct it now.... That speedo is difficult to read anyway so I don't pay much attention to it. I just thought there might be a screw or some idiot adjustment inside of it. It's not worth it to bother taking out and starting to randomly drill it open...

    Location of idle in ROM

If anyone knows.... I was trying to find the location of the idle speed for the IAC in the PROM (86 GN). I tend to burn my own PROMs for the car so wanted to to check and maybe adjust it. I have an old .xls file from Chips, Scantools, and EPROMs but it isn't clear exactly what the value at 0x64f...

Part number for VDO speedometer in the AVC GNX dash (reads too fast)

Thanks. I called VDO technical support and am still waiting for them. I can deal with it if I have to, but its been annoying me for the last 20 years.... I'm in the New York City area so not many speedometer repair shops :-)

Part number for VDO speedometer in the AVC GNX dash (reads too fast)

Hello AVC GNX dash people, does anyone have the part number of the VDO speedometer in that cluster? My speedometer consistently reads +2/+3 MPH over the actual speed and I would like to see if there is a way to adjust the offset. My VSS reads correctly so I don't think it is the speedometer...

    o2 sensor mounting

It is the stock one wire. I went with the old Bosch model for now since I don't race the car. It's possible that the NTK could fit but I would have to shave or cut it, at least on my car.

    o2 sensor mounting

Does anyone have any tips to mount those o2 sensors with the shield on them? The NTK sensor that I have uses a shield around the wire that hits the oil line from the turbo. I could try to push that oil line out of the way but I'm afraid of breaking something. I was thinking of taking my dremel...

    New tires for 16" rim

Just looked at the pricing for the 245/45R16s and they must be uncommon. Most are around $200 ea vs $100 for the 255/50R16...

    New tires for 16" rim

Are people running with 245/45R16 in the front? I have 255/50R16 in the back and they're fine. Tirerack has a Ricken 245/50 for $120 so I might just try it. The rubbing is really not too bad unless I really turn it all the way. I've been living with it for twenty years :-)

    New tires for 16" rim

Tirerack seems to have several different type of 245/50R16s in stock but I'de rather not get them again if the 225/50R16s will work. I think they will fit but I don't often hear of people using that size. The 245/50R16s only rub when turned all the way but over time it does wear them down a bit...

    New tires for 16" rim

I'm looking for new tires and thinking about downsizing mine from 245/50R16's because they have always rubbed a bit on the frame and the wheel well when turned to the extreme. It's not a track car. Has anyone put smaller tires on the front like 225/50R16's? Thanks.

Mounting LT1 MAF and maintaining stock appearance.

That looks great. I tried that but the plastic tube from the air cleaner is about .5" too small for the LT1 MAF diameter. I guess I could try to widen it (if that's what you did in that picture).
