    Leak down test

You want it 100psi so that you are representing compression. That way you will get a "leak" through the rings, or a valve seat etc. At 30psi you re not even making enough to show squat. I am sure you tried it at 100psi yes?

    Locate Previously Sold 87 GN

I bought a new 1986 that I tracked down. Called the current owner (did not answer), sent a text (he read it, but did not respond), sent him a mailed letter (with copy of the original window sticker) and he still would not communicate. Car had not been on the road for a few years, but he wanted...

Grand National is still the one

Saw this being passed around at the latest auction I was at (Mecum FL). No doubt the Grand National is still the one.

    Advice on cleaning emblems

I have seen that before... I think a jeweler would have an idea or two. These are basically cloisonné crest so maybe someone in that industry could come up with something.

300,000 Mi original garage keep. Maybe

Any strong GN is worth something. Even at 300k miles. I am sure you saw the recent for-sale here that had a very good mid-mile GN from a member for $30k. > My GN for sale I thought that was cheap, but its his car / not mine. With that said, $18-$19 for a solid high-mile driver? Anytime I see...

Spoolfool contest for a set of bumper fillers. Time to have some fun.

It was 1986, I had just driven my new Grand National off the Buick lot (after waiting a few months for the order to be preferenced). I was over the moon with the car (my 1st new car) and really fell for it head-over-heals. At that time no one was then familiar with the GN (most thought it was a...

Trying to value a Grand National

BMS1 is pretty close I think. Not a great time of the year to sell, but I think under $20k advertised & it will be gone. With that said some spoolfool fillers, deep cleaning and placed for sale where they do well (Bring a Trailer) & the return on the investment will be great. I know some...

Take a look at these vintage valve covers

Well thank you. I luv them, and want to do something with them as it just represents a whole lot of what I am about. I cant recall ever seeing a set without the often used turbo 6 logo, even back in the day. No they wont make you faster (right on salvageV6), & they are not high polished (like...

Take a look at these vintage valve covers

So I am a long time turbo Buick guy (1984/1985) and I have this set of vintage covers. Are these pretty rare these days? I was going to make a cool wall display with them. Anyone ever see ones like this? From way back in the day?

    Celebrity owned GN valuation

Honestly there is some advantage to B level celebrity ownership, and it is no different than celebrity owned real estate, antiques, etc. What it works out to be is a sellers advantage by being something that the other like items don't have. You may not get MORE money for that item, but it will...
