Things that buick should have got right the first time

For me I could only afford select options. So, I only ordered 9 of them. It made for a $286 a month payment. I wanted it to look optioned, be lightweight, and do it inexpensively. Posi, tinted glass, halogen headlamps, GN package, Tilt, Power windows, Cruise, Concert sound & lastly AM/FM with...

Things that buick should have got right the first time

I dunno. My 1986 (in Nov of 1985) was $14,400 out the door (after negotiation). For that you get drum brakes, an experimental power brake system, Grandfathers gauges, ribbon tach (that was considered cool then BTW), and a jankey space saver spare. Go look at the price of the 1986 Porsche 911...

    Driver Side Fender

I did all of the instructing yes! BMW, Ferrari, Porsche club, even Corvette. I had a 911 S/C (in your video). Hot rod ~ of course. And a '91 C2 Turbo (Guards Red) that I did a lot of track time with. And a '78 930 (Grand Prix white), 993, Boxsters, bunch of racecar 944's, and now racecar...

Oh yes, I know. I was there. I watched your old time stuff video. I am a 911 guy, have been since birth. I have had every conceivable variation, and I am at ABCC with them all of the time (when not at Road America). Porsches park next to my Buick.

    Leak down test

You want it 100psi so that you are representing compression. That way you will get a "leak" through the rings, or a valve seat etc. At 30psi you re not even making enough to show squat. I am sure you tried it at 100psi yes?

    Locate Previously Sold 87 GN

I bought a new 1986 that I tracked down. Called the current owner (did not answer), sent a text (he read it, but did not respond), sent him a mailed letter (with copy of the original window sticker) and he still would not communicate. Car had not been on the road for a few years, but he wanted...

Grand National is still the one

Saw this being passed around at the latest auction I was at (Mecum FL). No doubt the Grand National is still the one.

    Advice on cleaning emblems

I have seen that before... I think a jeweler would have an idea or two. These are basically cloisonné crest so maybe someone in that industry could come up with something.

300,000 Mi original garage keep. Maybe

Any strong GN is worth something. Even at 300k miles. I am sure you saw the recent for-sale here that had a very good mid-mile GN from a member for $30k. > My GN for sale I thought that was cheap, but its his car / not mine. With that said, $18-$19 for a solid high-mile driver? Anytime I see...

Spoolfool contest for a set of bumper fillers. Time to have some fun.

It was 1986, I had just driven my new Grand National off the Buick lot (after waiting a few months for the order to be preferenced). I was over the moon with the car (my 1st new car) and really fell for it head-over-heals. At that time no one was then familiar with the GN (most thought it was a...
