    200R4 lazy shifting

I've located the tranny (300-871CZF 0586) and valve body (CZ-5 in paint stecil) ids....they are CZ indicating 86-88 Monte SS... My car is an '87 Monte SS (I know im on the wrong site but best "tech" forum I've found) so maybe these are the original parts? Can anyone shed some light on...

I gotta look...didnt know where to look prior to now. I grabbed the number underneath the embosed "Hydramatic" on the driver side...presumably a useless casting number. I'll crawl under there tommorow and hopefully find out whats in my car... Thanks!

    200R4 lazy shifting

I adjusted the TV cable a bit and the upshifting seems better...not great...but much better. The biggest complaint I have now is coming to a complete stop, the transmision is late to downshift (or unlock?)....nearly stalling the car before it shifts into 1st gear. Anyone think this...

    200R4 lazy shifting

I adjusted the TV cable manually...essentially pressed button and pushed the cable in towards the back of the car a notch or two from where the WOT maneuver set it. I verified that the throttle would still hit its stop. Took it for a ride and it felt better overall but still slow to shift into...

    200R4 lazy shifting

"slide bump" shift sounds about right. The fluid level was a bit low...but then I added about a 1/2 qt and now i'm too high... Anyhow...started searching internet and saw alot about adjusting the TV cable. I grabed a Haynes manual and adjusted the cable...1st with it all the way...

    200R4 lazy shifting

Just bought a car and drove home 1+hrs. Tranny seemed sorta lazy at 1st, around town. Out on the highway doing 70mph no problems...shifted in/out of overdrive ok...no slipping. But, once home, cruising around town, upshifts were "lazy" and almost a double engagement for every shift (1-2...
