Nice to make your acquaintance. It sounds like you're really close to me. Your work looks great. I think we'll need to talk soon.

    Control Arm Bolts

Sadly, I think my '86 is also close to becoming a little "some assembly required" project. I'm going to have to make a decision soon as to whether we go full frame off. The front suspension and steering are bad, the rear suspension is bad, the rear end needs rebuilt, fuel and brake lines are...

Ron from RSR sounds like a good guy. You're actually the second person to mention his name this week. I will look him up for sure. Thanks Speed!

    Control Arm Bolts

100% Correct. Not the same car, but lives in the same garage... I finally went with welded plates, since I had trouble getting the rivnuts to hold. I could torque them up to about 14 ft/lbs, then they'd want to break loose. Easy to put in, but hard to get out when there's a bolt stuck in them.

    Control Arm Bolts

Thanks Turbo T The nuts should be silver plated, but black is what we've got to work with. The lower control arm bolts and sway bar bolts came out fine, but the shock bolts (far left edge) not so much. The upper control arm (cross shaft to frame) bolts will not turn out close to this nice...

    Control Arm Bolts

The car is such a dumpster fire I'm only focusing on the front right now, but I'll take a full car set if somebody sells such a thing online. Must be new. I already put the old ones into the media blaster here in the shop, then into a tumbler, and then did black oxide coating. All of the...

    Control Arm Bolts

I'm looking to replace all my control arm hardware, since I'm replacing all of my suspension and steering components. I'd prefer to use stock OEM or Repop replacements, but I'm not finding much online. I know there some aftermarket options (e.g., UMI), but that's not what I'm looking for. Any...

Greetings from Tomball TX! I've got both an '84 GN (hot air) and an '86 T-Type. Both need a lot of love at the moment. We call our '86 the "Fire Buick", because, well the name speaks for itself... We've never gotten as far as even turning the motor on the '84, so no fire extinguisher needed, at...

    Broken Hood Shock Bolt

I finally got tired of propping my hood open with a piece of wood, so after a year of looking at these pieces on my shelf, I decided to replace the hood shocks. Easy peasy. I couldn't imagine anything being simpler than this repair. I was apparently quite wrong... Now I've got a broken hood...

    Factory Alarm Option

I finally got a new set of door locks, since my 86 T-Type didn't come with any keys. This car has the factory alarm option. While changing out door locks isn't a challenge, this is the first time I've ever encountered ones that were wired. There is one switch on the side, and another on the...
