Just an update for all of you that have pre-ordered this. They will be arriving here at Epitome Exclusives next Tuesday and should ship by the end of the following week :)

I really like the idea of the new colors. I'm tired of black. I can't wait to see mine!

We are very excited. The Brown/Chestnut car was the one we worried about the most, but it looks so good I think it may end up being the best of the 4. It is SO different than anything ever introduced in the entire series since 1998 and only 500 made. They got the very difficult pinstriping down perfectly.

I'm looking forward to adding these new Buick Turbo cars cars to my 1/18th collection.

My glass showcase is just about full ...are these to be the last of the 1/18th scale produced ??

Waiting On Mine As Well My Display Case Is Almost Full Too. Hey Ted Let Me Know If You Find Out Any Thing On My 1:24 White T Thats Missing The One Headlight And Thanks For All The Good Stuff

I am sending you a brand new White T with your D84 designer Series cars, keep the broken one.

As far as these being the last 1:18th scale cars, the answer is 99% yes. This series of 4 1987 D84 Designer Series Turbo Ts is definitely the last series of 1:18th scale cars that will offered by Epitome. That is why we tried to make them of such high value for the dollar. $79.99 each with only 500 of each color made. Any cars before this with this production number or below retailed for $150 or so and went on to double or even triple in value. The D84s have been asked for for a very long time and I feel needed to be done.

Theoretically, a single, custom car could be offered at some point. However, I feel that the series has outperformed even the most optimistic outlook from the beginning and I don't want to just pile on for the sake of a few dollars. Many collectors trust my judgement and buy whatever we make to keep their sets complete. I will not violate that trust, we have come too far and done too well. Such low prices paired with such low production numbers is the icing on the now 9 year old series cake.

Sorry, no mold reworking for a sunroof or T-tops, no 1984 GN or 1982 either. That is just the way it has to be.

I think you will all be VERY happy and impressed with these 4 factory appearing two tone cars, they are truly gorgeous.

Still disappointed that the 1984 was never made :( after all, how hard would it have been? Its pretty much an exact copy of the 85 that WAS made... add a new box & voila! :)

I'm sure I'm not the only Buick nut that wanted to have a complete set of all 4 years that the car was really made.

Cash waiting if you change your mind

That is exactly the point. It would be a 1985 in a different box. There are a very vocal 20-30 people that want the repackage marketing of it as an 84, most collectors don't care. With a minimum run being 1,000 pieces, I think we would see a lot of red. Hand me an order list for 500 pre-sold and it will get done.

I hear ya... and understand... but I still want one

The 86 was basically a repack (exactly like the previous made 87) only with a grill change (and a new box).

Granted, the 86's are way more popular than the 84's, but you see what I mean, they're all derived from the same mold. And would give us a TRUE complete set.

And gee, do I get a HUGE discount for 500? ;)

Too bad you couldnt do another mini series... I could tell ya 2 or 3 others that would be awesome....

We ARE grateful to you to getting produced the ones you did though!

84 gn

i love the 84's first but in my curio it would be a copy of the 85 :( to 90% of the people as ted stated its not worth it. how about calling it quits on the greatest line of turbo buick diecast ever:) i thank GMP and EPITOME for the great work making ME happy  with these metal toys!!! p.s i got my WE4!!!!!!!!!!!!! how about a purple/pink/lime green,24" gold 100 spoke, donk,w/sounds, and a 305 v8 ???? <--- please dont!!!! LOL ;)

I would have to agree that the last D84's will be a great finish to the 1/18th Buick Turbo series, I think those like myself that have been collecting these great cars since 99' feel that we have a very complete Buick collection.

Its hard to believe that 8 years ago GMP/Peachstate/Epitome were talking about a 3 car Buick series and look at it today.

Congrats and thanks to all of those involved for a great collection.

thanks ted will it be numberd like the rest? if you want the other one back i will send it no problem. again thanks

I've been in this set from the beginning also, and what a great way to finish it out. I can't wait!:D

I've been waiting for a great ending to this series.....
and this is definitely the way to end it...these D84's are HOT!!!
Thanks Ted, for keeping it going this long.

I know you said this it for Epitome and the 1/18's....but what about GMP?

Are they planning any more Buicks? Any more 1/24's?

Can't wait to get 'em................

Steve
