It nice to have the tools to do this.
Have you considered welding on the 9in ford outer bearing axle housing from Moser ?
^ Me too. Actually I set up my shop equipment for it. That was the first time he used my Multimatic 200. He was at max amp @150. He didn't learn it was a lift Arc, till after he started, lol.
He is going to weld in the rear upper adjustable, control arm, bracket.
dang a Rolls Royce pen ...nothing but the best going on here... nice work sir ...
Thanks Ron's welded his whole life. Those are awesome welds, no pigeon shit there.
Is that you in the avatar?
Yes, Preheat Oxy/ace with #4 rosebud. He was careful with the preheat. I saw YouTube videos where they use propane. Probably works fine but the rosebud was the business. He used my Miller Multimatic 200. Pegs at 150 ramps. He would have preferred using his welder and running at 160 ramps. I wanted to use my shop because the cool down is 9 hours and I didn't want to tie his shop up. He would have preheated less if he had the extra ramps. He's a pro worked it out. I bought the filler from McMaster Carr. Got 14 each, 3 Foot Lengths, 3/32". Enough for 7 rears, 1 stick per axle.Did he preheat with oxy/acetylene? What does your weldor use for equipment? I'm not familiar with the filler specified. Can you get what settings, tungsten type n size, filler size he used and post?
That guy is very good looking at the finished dimes.
