I was using the search feature but really couldn't find any definitive info. I want to try to push the limits of a completely stock TR. Any ideas? Trying to get the car into the mid-11's. :D
 
Mid to low 12s is what I would think? But someone here will know for sure.;)
 
I'm looking to get input as to how to go faster using all stock stuff.

And then upgrading the unseen stuff (ie: fuel pump, injectors, etc.)
 
i think low 12s is as far as you can go on stock turbo and stuff. you could put a TA49 on it under the stock cover (noone would know) and get into 11s i think. your really gonna want a downpipe though
 
As I remember, People were getting 12.70s bone stock by dropping the air psi in the tires, C-16 in the tank, and cranking up the boost.

The term "stock" is kinda a grey area.
 
Well, I'm trying to see what I can push out of completely stock. (ie: whatever came from the factory.) I was thinking about the ta49 but I'm wondering about the air in and out of the car (intake and exhaust)

Any other ideas?
 
What are you trying to prove? Do a search for Ed Brewer and he went 11.3 on a stock turbo and IC with a dutt neck. :)

Lots of guys running 11.7 and 11.8 with stock injectors and turbo, but you have to run racegas.


Ta series turbos are stock appearing, i have been 11.1 with my ta 60 and 009 injectors in my white limited. It has a front mount intercooler, but i tell you the car had a stock converter and trans, intake and heads never off, and i was only pushing 23psi maybe 25 on the top end

They always seem to last longer when they are stockish, get you a set of 009s, a big turbo like the 44 or the 6131 and throw as much fuel and meth at it and find the limits of detonation.

26PSI on pumpgas and meth with quinch your thirst for how much power you can get out of a stock motor.

I suggest a 6152, but it wont spool with the stock D5 convertor. Im currently looking for larger turbos that arent too big for the stock heads, something near the 1000 cfm area.

I did the stock looking build.

The biggest stock looking turbo (TA61), Champion ported irons, 60 lbs inj, stock location (V4) intercooler, stock GN rims widened to 8", hidden alky setup, gutted cat.

Car ran a best of 11.17 @ 122 mph on 91 oct and DRs.

You might get 10 psi boost if you wire the wastegate closed?

With some good gas that could get you into the high 15's? :)

? My wastegate was bad and wouldn't relieve boost and it spiked to 20-25psi a couple times.

Installed the new wastegate but now I'm tracking down a vacuum leak, replaced the egr gasket and I still have int 150 at idle, of coarse only after I give it a rev it then leaks, it idled perfectly at around 128 and gave a little gas it came back down to idle and the int kept going up til maxed out... This is what I'm doing this morning. Chasing down this vacuum leak.

I thought maybe its the MAF so I was gonna test out my translator and LT1 maf I haven't yet installed but now I have to figure out what couplers i need toget them to connect to the stock intake tubing.
