I have a Joe L 110 race chip the timimg is 26* and its say's its for 20+ boost and fuel press of 38-40. Can this chip be ran on the street or will i blow some thing up . I was thinking of trying it at the track soon and didn't know if i sould drive there with the race chip in or put it in when i get there.

Sould i see some time pickup with this chip, faster then my 12.80@108.5 with the JL93 chip.

You can drive it to the track with that chip on pump gas if you want to, just stay out of the boost. A few psi won't hurt but I wouldn't push it. I don't have any track times but I know on my Max Effort when I go from 18 degrees to 24 degrees with no other changes there is a noticable seat of the pants difference. As a side benefit higher timing lowers your EGTs. It will probably run a little richer than your street chip so be prepared for it. From what I remember in another thread you can expect 2-4mph from the timing if tuned right and it will supply fuel for the higher boost.

What are you taking about when you say [lower my EGT'S]

Thanks for writing so fast, kevin

I just mean higher timing lowers the exhaust gas temperatures. It's a little easier on exhaust valves and such. You can push it a little harder before you start melting things.

Iam going to the track friday night and would like to try the 110 chip , it say's it is for 20+ boost and 38-40 psi fuel press . Where would be a good place to start 20psi boost and 40 psi fuel press sound ok.

When i run this chip as long as i get no knock i should be ok right , as soon as i get any knock i aways let off. Iam going to run 110 and some 116 mix. What do you guys think.

Or do you guys think i should just run the 93 chip and pull the stock fan off to get a few more hp. I found two small cracks in the header and JBwelded them think it can hold for a little bit of time.

dude put the 110 chip in it will go faster if you hook it.

its no different than tuning for the street chip just it must have octane..110 and 116 mix should do ya i run 116 with my 110 chip and i still havent got it right yet.

i took a buddy of mine for a ride awhile ago and i hit it in second gear with 26# of boost on my street chip.....now i gotta go get his fingernails out of my interior.....:D

Iam ready for my ride, iam going to try the race chip then and see what it will do , plus i got a new o2 sensor:D I do need to add a little fuel i am getting bad knock in over drive.

this should be the last trip to the track hope it works good.

I forgot when i go to the track and change the chips can i just un plug the orange or red wire for the ecm and change the chips , how should i change them with out burning one up.

yea unplug the power wire like you said then when you grab the ecm have your hand on the doorframe or something metal to ground yourself so you dont have static built up.

pop out one pop in the other and hold on..;)

I tryed , mixed some 110-112 cam 2 and 23 psi with no knock .

But i could not get it to shift from 1st to 2nd and i had my best 60' by a little 1.82.4, i ran 1.82.6 and 12.65 last time i know it had a lot more , i let off after the 60' and still ran in the 9's in the 1/8.

I guess i'll be droping the tran pan to see whats up.:(
