WTF? I haven't had the otc 85 on the regal in a while (my fault) and just today I put on the adj. regulator. I turned down the pressure (static) from 42 to 41. The car felt a lot better. I then hooked up the monitor to check o2's. They went from 890-900 to around 860...so great. BUT then I went to the knock retard mode and it has 1* retard upon startup...Went out and got on it and it went to 7*....usually only goes up to 2* @ 42 fuel psi. So ok...shut off the car and start it back up...44* retard @idle...shut down and do again...115* retard!?!?! @ idle. Now wtf if going on? I upped the fp back to 42 and still get 7* retard, not the usual 2*. False knock from somewhere? Maybe the dp leak? Maybe I also have a leak in the up pipe I didn't know about. i'll buy a new doughnut seal for the up pipe and see if that helps. If that's leaking...can that throw the o2's off that bad and cause all that false knock because of the extra noise? I'm stuck here. Help me out.
 
Yes, an upipe leak can definately through off the O2s.
Do you have any noticeable internal engine noise, like valvetrain noise, or from timing chain?
I had an issue with false KR a long time ago where I swapped out ECMs and solved it. I believe I was also getting a code 42, with that ECM.
Also, not to long ago had false KR that went away with swapping ESC sensors.
 
No more noise in the valve train since I had the car. The only noise I'm getting is the stupid pss, pss, pss from the exhaust leak. I wonder why the readings were off the wall?
