I have the Robert Adams brake upgrade kit. Before I install anything, I like to trial fit the parts. The problem I found was the upper A-arm ball joint stud is HUGH! The spindle will have to be reamed to fit the ball joint stud. BUT the real problem is the ball joint stud is too long and goes past the treads when fully seated to the spindle. Anyone else have this problem? What is the fix??

Yes, the hole needs to be reamed out to 1.5" per ft IIRC. I had to send my spindles to Robert in Texas to get them done.

There is also a washer placed between the castle nut and the spindle mounting flange.

HTH,

Yeah, what Mr. T said.

I forgot the washer on the first side. "OH Crap!" I thought. I just put the Jack under the lower control arm, jacked up the car, undid the nut, put the washer in and re-tightened it. No big deal.

I have the hole measurements some where at home (top diameter and bottom diameter) if you need them. It may take a couple days to find them, however.

Alot of circle track guys have to ream out the spindles and most of those shops have the tools to do that.

Robert Adams 12" brake kit

His current price is $690.

Or you can buy the Upper control arms from robert (and have him ream the spindles for $250) and buy all the other pieces locally for about $300 and have about $550 total with some shipping and tax in it.

Here is a parts list
