ok i hade a very bad header leak last time at the track and only made two runs the first traping 101 at 14 psi and the next running 12-17 wich was 100mph . I have now fixed the problome and am hoping to be able to get close to my old 60 ft times of 1.9, just wondering if you guys think i could run 12s on pump gas and no chip with a ta33 and stock inj.
the run at 101 mph was a 13.78 at 101 with a 2.4 60ft

thanks

eeeehh...i am going to say no....Just becaus the header is fixed, you may not get the same R/T's, and you may cause more tuning issues with the turbo...Heavier knock, maybe some poor timing issues....I would try to locate a chip, or at the very least, throw some high octane in there, 110 or better....

I hope you go 12's by all means, but these cars are so damn unpredictable!!!

Good luck and make sure you tell all of us how you do!

John

If you cut a 1.9xxx 60 ft, that would bring you down to 13.00xx all things equal with the same trap speed.

well i figure like a 13.5 just wondering what you guys think , and also the 13.6 i ran was at such a low mph that it made me think it may be possible < but i dont know on tha 101mph run my car felt dead on the top end so ????
thanks

Looking at your entire post and sig i would say you have issues with that setup, you should be running faster. first I would put new valve springs in it if you have not done so, then readjust boost if needed and go back to the track and see if that helps your top end power, then get rid of those deflated bfgs in your sig for a set of slicks at the track because deflated tires are hard to roll and that will hold you back. If you cant afford slicks diconnect the front sway bar and get an air bag in the right rear to help with traction and make a run like that and see what your time is then go back to the pits and remove the cat to disconnect that damn flow master and make a run with that and see if your top end power improves you can be the test pig for the flowmaster myth. That 33 turbo should flow about 700 cfm and your ported intake and heads should support it. tune the car for the most boost without knock because with an ic and a 33 you should be able to do more than 17psi, if you still get knock at 17 psi than run an alky kit and turn up the boost and adjust fuel as needed but above all make sure you launch hard with boost.

You should be in the 12's with that setup. I went 12.9 with about same setup and blue tops. And my 60' times were not that good.

well guys i went 13.15 at 103 with a 2.0 60 ft so im close, ill be back out sat and gunna do some more tuning to see if i can get there i was at 17 psi and no knock so i should have a little more in it and a better 60 ft ? ill let you know .

Good job. You can probably get the boost into the 20's. It'll probably take some race fuel. Or some toulene.

ever consider a stretch intercooler? Alky? I think one of the two will put those 12's in your hands real quick with your combo!!!

Good luck!!!

John

looks like he's already got a spearco on there...

um... I'd say if you have slicks, shove both your feet through the firewall on the launch and let 'er rip! A nice 10-12 PSI launch will likely get you into the 1.8's in the 60 foot and guarantee you that 12 sec. number. Hell if my front drive Riviera will run a 1.8 60 foot on slicks, your combo sure will...

im gonna run a home brew (xylene and some mm oil)? well see how high i can get the boost , as for the front sway bar i have thougt about it but have heard that it wil make the car handle very poor on the top end ? my shocks are old and the car handles bad as it is so i havnt done it ,
thanks for the responses saturday is getting closer:D
