Currently I have 15x10's with 4.5" backspace and 28x10.5 slicks. I do have aluminum drums.

I'm thinking that 15x9's will work with 4.5" backspace just fine with either tire. Will I need to roll lips?

opinions?

Just talking to wikedv6 the other day about this? So you don't need a rolled lip for a 15x-10x with 4.5 bs?

I don't think a 4.5" bs will work unless you use a spacer. I have 4" BS and there's only about 1/2" of gap max. between frame and tire, BUT I'm using street tires..

With 15x10s if you use air bags or one air bag and a good sway bar, a little bit of air in the bag will keep the car off the tire.

It's still better to roll the lips for safety.

If you are running 15x8s with a big slick the tire is much more bulged and will rub the frame. Less bulge on a 10in wheel but the fender lip comes into play.

Kevin, I was the guy that just bought you kit last week by the way.

I just installed 15x8 with 4"BS using 275-60 MT drag radials. I have 3/8" to 1/2" between tire and frame. Plenty of room to lips

Here's a pic without the tire on.

I can't see what 's in the picture.. it's too dark to make out.. what size wheel is it? an do you have aluminum drums?

I've also used 15x8's already so I know they work.. i'm curious if anyone's use the 15x9 with the 4.5" backspace... thanks

I have 15x8 with 4" back space and 275-60 DR. I'd say 15x9's will work, but 4.5 BS or 4' + spacer is a must. I don't have aluminum drums. I wanted my wheels tucked in close as possible. I now have 3/8" to 1/2" between frame and tire and they don't stick out. If they made my wheel in a 9", that's what I would have bought and played with spacers.
