1980 Chevy Malibum Rear end the same??

Hey guys, just wondering if a rear end in a 1980 Chevy Malibu is the same as our cars?? I assume all 78' - 87' are the same??? Sold my 7.5" to a Malibu guy and I am going to be installing it in his car, just thought I'd double check to be safe...
