I know its been a little while as I have been very busy with work and the recent stroke my father had. Since the last time I have posted I have dropped my car off at the family mechanics house to see if he could figure out. So far he has found out that it has a weak spark and that is running very rich. Am I going to need a new ignition module? Also it is running very rich, I am not sure at how much pressure are at the fuel rails as I still need to get my gauge and FPR on there. But what are some usual symptoms of spraying to much fuel? Cam sensor? Any help or thoughts would be muchy appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Any thoughts? Could a bad MAF cause this or a bad ECM? Any thoughts would be much appreciated. I would like to start buying parts I need just so I can get the car running. To update, the car is 100% stock with 125k miles, been sitting for 5 or so years, due to a bad fuel pump. Got it the fuel pumped working properly but now it is spraying way to much fuel and flooding. And when it does start it runs awful and you have to feather the throttle contiously to get it to stay running.

Also if anyone has parts that I may need and willing to sell, please get ahold of me . Thanks

Hi Jordan, Sorry about your father, I hope he doing OK?

When you have an engine that has over 125k mileage, and also been sleeping for over 5 years you need to do a spring cleaning maintenance (http://www.gnttype.org/maint/basics.html)

There is too many variables to pin point some of your problem. Keep in mind you also might need to have your stock fuel injectors to be professional clean or replacement, since there might have a varnish build up of gas residue.

It's worth the price to buy an Scanmaster (http://www.fullthrottlespeed.com/itemdesc.asp+ic+050SCAN2GN+eq++Tp+), as this is a good scan tool.

There are many Excellent TR vendors on board, and one of them is Highway Stars who also has many differnt types of ignitions as well as sets.

OK, so now fuel is being pumped up front. If the injectors are the originals that came with the car, don't give it another thought and replace them. If they are not original then consider pulling them and have them cleaned. Compare the cost of cleaning against cost of replacement, then decide.

Also you'll need to test the fuel pressure at the rail to ensure the f/p regulator is working properly. Do you have, or can you borrow a fuel pressure gauge?

Thanks for the replies, I am going to invest in the scan master, although it says it is for a 86-87, will it work for the 84-85 aswell? Also I am going to get a set of injectors to be safe, does anyone happen to know the stock size for 85 and where I can find them for a good price? I am also going to do a spring cleaning on the car but I figure before I go out and spend a ton of money on the stuff I should probably do a compression check to make sure im not wasting my money.

Hi Jordan, I didn't realize that your TR is an 85' and the Scanmaster info I gave you is for 86/87'. I'm not familiarize with the 85'. You might want to give Full Throttle a call and see if they have an Scanmaster for your 85'.
