1st to 2nd shift

have an 87 gn 200r4… 1st to 2nd shift isn't right. it just skips over 2nd and right to 3rd. anyone else experience this? i put a new cable on and it still does the same thing…. valve body maybe?

Could have broken band, band pin, or just be worn out. Gonna need a disassemble to see.

sorry….when i shift it manually…it just slides over 2nd into 3rd. you have to do it really slow to make sure its in second, and don't gp into 3rd from 1st. its weird..

Stock shifter? Have you looked at the rooster comb in the trans? Is the nut holding the actuator in the side of the trans tight?

yes it is the stock shifter…i will check the actuator in the morning. ill probably pull the trans out this winter and go thru it. thank you for your help.
