Man alot of Cultured Rock N Rollers in here from these threads lately

Prolly 2 Albums that come to my mind where every song was great and thats what id like to see although some might like one song and others not but its hard to make an album without a few tunes for filler

You can say Boston's 1st where every song got airplay and was great or Fleetwood Mac Rumors...same thing

We all had some that maybe fast forward a song here and there...IM looking for 2 that you completely shreaded..

IE Pink Floyd Animals or 2112;)

But if I had to pick 2 albums where every song was great
but did not get alot of airplay except an A and a B side

I know of quite a few more that would make this list and prolly will but my 2 albums

Would be

Montose (Montrose)
Robin Trower (Bridge of Sighs)

I dont think thats possible.

Back in the day I used to listen to Slippery When Wet from start to finish over and over. Almost 20 years later I can't stand to listen to anything by Bon Jovi. Same thing with Motley Crue. I think the pressure on bands to write x amount of songs to have a complete album takes away from the quality. Im sure that most downloaded music on our computers has 4-5 songs from any one band. The rest of that bands songs just dont appeal. Example: I have a group of Iron Maiden, Trooper, Run to the hills, Wasted years, and Number of the beast. I like a few more Maiden tunes but those are the ones that do it for me. Pink Floyd the wall and any of the Queen Albums are about the closest as far as a complete bad@ss album for me IMO. Great Topic, Ill be following this one closely.

Montose (Montrose)

+1 - That album kicks ass!

Also...

BTO - Not Fragile

Doobie Brothers - The Captain and Me

Is there a bad song on either of those albums? No.

No new artist will be on this list because now everyone puts one, maybe two, good songs on a disc and fills the rest with crap.

I tore up my 2112 also. Black sabbath we sold are soul for rock and roll.ac dc dirty deeds. And you can say i am gay but Reo Speedwagon. May sound a little crazy but the best of canned heat and ten years after. I was listening to xm tonight and they said the singer from stryper is the new singer for boston.Sounds real good too . man I cant believe i for got triumph Allied Forces and Just A Game. Sorry i dont think I mentioned anything from the
90's yet . I will be back:eek:

We call it Filler!

yeah BTO Not Fragile...is Blue Coller on that?
And Sabbath we sold our soul 4 RNR was on me list as well
I still have Triumph Allied Forces

keep em comming

The Beatles - Revolver and Van Halen - Women and Children First! (I dare you not to drive fast or just get pumped up in general during Loss of Control)

It's really way too hard to pick two albums though because someone could say almost any two Led Zeppelin albums and no one could deny it. Maybe since I was watching High Fidelity the other night, maybe top 5 records.

Bob Dylan- Highway 61 revisisted
Savoy Brown- Looking In
Have to throw in Fleetwood Mac- Then Play On and Kiln House

Ron

Bob Dylan....

Alrighty then...;) That guy sounds like he got kicked in the nuts. "How does it feel?" :D

"Love at first sting" Scorpions
"Pyromania" Def Leopard

Those are my favorite for generic rock 'n' roll.... I really don't consider them Metal

Ahhhhhhhhh the 80's hairbands:biggrin:

Get a few Bartles and James for the ladies and a 12 pack for me and game on LOL

Slaughter
Damn Yankees
on and on and on

The following are albums that I literally wore out and had to replace with either tape back then or cd now...
Van Halen / 1st album
Ozzy Osbourne/ Randy Rhoads Tribute
Def Leppard / Pyromania
Dokken / Under Lock and Key
Billy Squire / emotion in motion
David Lee Roth / Eat em and smile
The Cult / Sonic Temple

Dokken Under Lock and Key man that was a good album I remember jamming to that tape in my AMX:p

sverble hit it.

Burnt up the Cult sonic temple and Dokken lock and key. Saw Ozzy several times during the 80s, so I burnt up a few of those cassettes as well as a few brain cells!!

Forgot to mention, Tesla... Modern Day Cowboy!!

I also wore out:
ZZ-Top/ Eliminator
Van Halen/ 5150, 1984
Stray Cats/ Rant n rave
Eagles /Greatest hits 71-75
Cinderella / Night Songs
Jeff Beck / Flash
Foghat / Live

Savoy Brown- Looking In!!

Love it,... got Raw Sienna and Hellbound Train also but not on list of album that i burned up front to back although HB Train takes up a whole back side...lol

How about a little newer like Alice in Chains, Dirt
and Sound Garden, bad motor finger

not a bad song on both of em

Just rocks seeing all the cultured music freaks on here.
Most people only know what they hear on the radio day in and day out

2112, I see you are in Flint, I was born and raised there, left in the mid 70's,
sorry did not mean to change the thread. Graduated from Kearsley High in 66.
How about you, what school did you attend??

Ron
