Of the three fuel lines going to the tank, which one is the return line, the small, medium or large line? I think it is the medium line, but not sure.

Lines?/

The line on the dr side is the feed, the 2 coming down the pass side are: the larger of the 2 is return and the smallest is the tank vent that is plumbed to the charcoal cannister. DO NOT plug this off if you are removing the cannister!! It will put the tank under vacuum and cause SERIOUS pump cavitation problems and low fuel volume...;) ;)

This would explain why I am getting knock so early!! It was plugged when I got it. If I dont plug it, is this a vacuum leak?

Cannister??

I leave the line open and leave the solenoid there too. Will set a code if you just unplug the solenoid and take it all off. Take the line to the tank and put a plastic fuel filter in it and leave it in the fender well area. Leave the solenoid there too and plug the vac line to it, or take it off where it comes off the manifold area behind the alt..

YES, it will cause POOR fuel delivery due to the vac. being pulled on the tank. The pump relys on atmospheric press. on the fuel to keep it full. Poor delivery = KNOK!!!
Put a ga. on the rail and hang it on the wiper arm. Drive the car at WOT and watch the ga.. 1# increase for every # of boost!!!
See if when you take the cap off the tank, it makes a suckin sound!! That's a vac:eek:
