2 GN engines blown in the last year at the track

Sux ...both of these guys have approached me and picked my brain on what to do to make them fast.
Typical first things were expressed that needed 2 be addressed. Get car in perfect tune.. fuel pump.. scantool...etc.
Guys both are coming from NOS powered stuff and just want to floor it and forget tuning.


And as usual they skip all of the important stuff to keep the engine together and get a FMIC, turbo, etc and crank the boost up on pump gas. One car spun the main and popped the headgasket.
Second guy had alky (Water and some meth) and a scanmaster and popped the head gaskets.
I asked the 2nd guy about looking at the scanmaster and he said it showed zero knock. He said he could here the car popping but since the scanmaster showed zero knock he just kept his foot in it....

Too bad...both guys where real head strong and I guess they expected to hear just turn up the boost and go. Oh well guess they know now

I ran across a GN owner a while back at the track. They would crank on the accuator rod just about everytime after a pass. They told me the motor was built and could handle it and was running race gas. But they wasn't doing anything to account for timming etc. I told them you're braver than me.
