Hey guys, I have an honest question regaurding the RJC girdle versus the CAT girdle, im asking in advance that we avoid the made in usa pissing match that these threads usually turn into, I am pro usa all the way, but there is a hefty price difference between the two and im asking for experiances with both and honest differences, This entire project is costly so im just trying to figure out if the CAT girdle is ok or should I spend the money on the RJC part? My goals are a strong 109 that will hopefully see some 9.80 ish sorta times, It will be a stroker engine with K1 rods, steel center caps. GN1 heads, 70GTQ etc, Thanks, Ryan

i would stay away from the cat one i used one and it cost me more in extra machine work to get it to fit than the rjc one. im sure not all of the cat ones are bad but mine was they both do the same job if installed properly. i would say its kinda a gamble to go with the cat.

I haven't seen nor used the CAT but have heard exactly what Cory said....with the extra machine work it ends up costing more than Jason's.

I've installed 3 of Jason's, 2-20 bolt and 1-14 bolt and they're perfect.

I have used both and honestly have never had any problems with either, but I do like the drain back slot up front better than the holes.just my $0.02.

A customer brought in a CAT girdle. Our machinist ran over it with a mill to get the surface perfectly straight to match the block and it installed fine.

I've never seen a cracked stock cap with the girdle. IMO I'd ditch the steel cap idea and run the RJC girdle and the money should even out.

Should answer all your questions

I have had problems of fitment with both as well as oil leak's,as no two blocks are the same.I do like the shims and oil return slot though.I haven't used RJC's latest girdle with the crank scraper.Iam not trying to debunk the claims of RJC just reporting what I have come across in my some 80 or so builds.

rjc vs cat

Ive got the cat girdle installed and have rjc crank scraper waiting to be dropped off Michaels Racing said he could drill holes for it in right spot:eek: they told me it was a pretty good looking piece besides for hardware.
