We had our club meeting last night and I was introduced to a member that I had not met before. His car is running 93 only with 20-21 pounds of boost. The difference in him is that he has the log files & the time slips to back it up. A well respected club member confirmed that he had made 6 passes with a trap speed of 120-122 mph (short time is another story) but he is making power. It think that more cars are capable of doing this than is realized and so far the common thread seams to be Bob & Eric's chip's. I'm sure that they don't recommend that you do this but to me it's a good sign that they are very good at what they do and not bragging about it.

Its all in the tune man. I ran 20-21 psi with a TT chip and an RJC power plate on 93 for a long time....8 years ago.

All in the tune, and a really effective front mount IC. I also run 20-21psi on straight 93 octane pump gas. Don't race anymore but that's the boost I'm running on the street.

And yes, I run Bob, and Eric's chip(s)

As you can see, the time slice line is at the top of 3rd gear and at 20#, but looking back, the boost in 2nd gear is higher. I do that on-purpose.

Dave you are one of the first that come to mind when thinking of higher boost levels on pump gas.

I was digging through some of my pictures and dug up another PowerLogger with an example of how the tune is working.

Man Dave you might as well say 22 psi & 22 degrees! Your pushing those injectors a little aren't you?

3rd gear 5125 rpm 21 psi and 60 mph...huh?

If you look at the graph the time slice is right at the top of second the split second when the 3rd gear switch was activated to make the shift to third.

Ya, at that point. Normally at the top of third they're in the high 80% range.

Totally doable. It's been a while since I've raced my car, but I'm sure I've run 120 mph in the 1/4 on 17 psi boost, spraying just a bit of alky on pump 93 (I have a SLIC), hell, I've gone 112 mph on what was about 7-10 psi boost on pump 93 only before I installed the alky kit. There was another stroker GN in FL that was running low 120's on pump 93 only as well.
