I shipped a crossmember from an 85 GN to a guy on the oldsgmail.com mailing list. When he got it he said it wouldnt work. Is there a difference between the 2004r crossmember in a buick.. and the one in an olds? any help is greatly appreciated. I cant imagine that the "same" chassis would have a different crossmember. Thanks again.

Keith,

Look back a few weeks in the "transmission" section of this board, it seems like there is a difference in how the tranny mount bolts up - one is offset from center (don't recall which it is).

Yes, the V6 cars have the mount offset to the passengerside where the standard V8 Olds and Chevrolet cars have it centered on the crossmember. As far as where they bolt to the frame, that location is identical. The V8's dont use the rubber insulators that the V6's have.
