As I was searching the board looking for solutions to some probelms I'm having with a recently rebuilt CZF trannie I ran across a post that implied the 700 solenoid was better than the 200. I had not read or heard that before. I thought both solenoids were the same GM part.

Is there an advantage to using the 700 solenoid in a 200 4R?

Good item for Bruce's upcoming 200 4R book, eh?

"The Reason the 7004r one is better is because its an electro magnet not a plunger as the 2004r one is . They bolt in and shims are provided. They are alot more reliable as how many 700 ones you see fail? The 7004r electromagnet ones are the best and what you should use. Also they exhaust faster because of increased hole size in stalk."

"You can get one from a 89 Chev truck with a 350 cu in engine and a 700R4 trans"

Bruce posted this a while ago.
