2001 GTP intake manifold gasket replacement HELP.
The car has 120K miles
The band-aid has worn out and now it’s leaking a lot of oil.
What are the must “Dos” when replacing the Intake Manifold gasket and Valve Cover gaskets?
Which type and brand of replacement gasket should I use?
Do I need any special service tools for the supercharger removal and install?
Where can I get the re-torque sequence for the intake and supercharger?
What else should be done once this is all opened up?
Thanks
David

pretty straight forward....
get GM intake gaskets($40-50 at monsterpartsonline.com)

no special tools needed...supercharger is sensitive to torque and sequence...torque the bolts to 15lb/ft in a zig-zag sequence

it was allready mentioned in your other post but get the aluminum gaskets so they will outlast the car. GM supercharger gaskets last better than the aftermarket ones.

you will need thread sealant for the intake bolts from my recollection

Kshef's torque specs sound correct

new injector o rings is a good idea , you can inspect them closely and reuse them but its pretty common for them to tear or take out a chunk on removal. vaseline the o rings before re install ,clean out the injector bores also before re install - you may actually want to do this before taking everything apart also it will ensure there is less debris around to potentially fall in the bores and make it easier to find wayward small parts like fuel rail nuts ,injector clips ,etc... murphy's law says you will drop something and need to go looking for it

if you have ever consider doing any mods such as cam , gen5 SC , intercooler ,blocking off tb coolant ports , etc... do them while its apart

do an oil change or 2 after start up to get any contaminants out that may end up falling in the lifter galley

thanks for the info guys.
i'll start the parts gathering this week.

Not looking to do any performance work as this is my wifes car and my current Daily Driver (my car is down) i just want it to be in good working order and address any other issues since it will be taken apart.

please excuse my ignorance but how do you put an intercooler on this specific set up????

I was thinking about an ALKY KIT, boost gauge and a scanmaster.

intercooler on a sc 3800 would be a plate stlye intercooler sandwiched between the sc & LIM ( technically an aftercooler) it would have a core similar to a heater core integrated in the plate and not required but best would be opning up the sc & lim to match the size of the cores surface area. you would need a pump to cycle the coolant anything from a cheap bilge pump such as a rule from a marine store up to a gm IC pump or ford lightning pump are popular , the fluid gets cycled through an fmhe (front mount heat exchanger) through rubber or plastic tubing.

several companies make complete kits ranging from $600-1500 but an enterprising individual cam build something comparable to the high priced unit for the price of the low priced unit by buying a used IC core and building your own supply & return system ,sourcing your own pump and vw scirrocco radiator is commonly used for an fmhe

lots have tried alky inj on this platform , few have had success though it would be nice to see someone from a platform that has used alky injection with the success that TB guys have take a crack at it. IMO its only a matter of time before someone dials it in properly and it becomes a viable option.
