2004 5.3 water pump

well looks like my water pump took a dump. How hard is it to do it my self? Thanks Sean

Not bad at all, if it has a clutch fan that's the only thing that's a pain be sure to get it off before the belt. If you have electric fan easy cheasy. Get an ac delco pump though. They will to try and sell you an updated bolt for the thermostat but the new pump will come with it, but the new bolt is no different than the old one. While you're there a new thermo would be a good idea and maybe new hose clamps to get rid of those factory crappers

i did the water pump in my brother's '01 in about a half hour, most of which was spent getting the fan shroud and then the fan out of the way.

I believe 03 was last year of clutch fan so it's a real easy job

wow - 30 minutes? it took half a day. oh wait I ran outta moonshine and had to go get another quart, but install was easy.
